Remember when you had to go to the library for a house plan?

I spent a whole Saturday in 2005 at the main branch pulling books to sketch a porch addition. Now I just scroll through a free app on my phone and find ten ideas before my coffee gets cold. What's the first project you did where the internet totally changed your process?

Wasn't building my first PC way easier with video tutorials?

Saw a tech article that argued written guides force you to understand the steps better. They said videos let you just copy motions without really learning why you're plugging a cable in a certain spot. I had that happen when I built mine, I followed a video and then later had no clue how to troubleshoot a simple post error. The text forums made me slow down and read the details, which stuck in my brain way more. So maybe there's a real trade-off between easy and actually knowing your stuff.
