Spent $400 on a fancy tile cutter for one bathroom and it's been sitting in my garage for two years.

Ever think you need the perfect tool before starting a project? I used to buy all the gear first, but then I realized I was just putting off the actual work. Now I borrow or rent the big stuff for a one-time job. That tile cutter would have cost me like $50 for a weekend.

Yeah, that "putting off the actual work" part hits home. I used to do the same thing with woodworking projects. I'd spend weeks looking for the best router table instead of just starting with the hand tools I already had. Renting for one time jobs is smart, it keeps your garage from filling up with stuff you'll never touch again.
