Wish I had tried the ziptie trick for pulling wire through tight conduit years ago
My neighbor who does 30 year old rewires showed me how taping a ziptie to the head of your fish tape stops it from snagging on every single coupling, and it saved me 45 minutes on a crawlspace run yesterday, has anyone else got a weird trick like that for old conduit?

Spent a solid 20 minutes last week trying to yank a cat5 through some old pipe before realizing I'd taped the ziptie on backwards, so the little locking end was catching on every joint instead of the smooth bit. Felt like a genius when I flipped it around, then immediately felt like a clown for not checking first. Probably looked like I was wrestling a garden hose made of concrete.

My buddy Mike tried pulling through this old 1950s conduit last summer and spent like two hours fighting it before he just gave up and ran the cable along the outside instead. He still talks about that day whenever someone mentions retrofitting.
