That one freelancer on Reddit told me to ditch my formal sign-off and it actually worked
Back in 2021 someone said to just end client emails with 'Thanks, [name]' instead of all that 'Best regards' fluff and I tried it on a cold pitch to a design studio in Austin. Landed the gig within 3 days has anyone else found that casual tone actually converts better?

Tbh that 'Thanks, [name]' thing is a game changer, I switched to it a few months ago and people actually reply faster now. Honestly glad someone else saw the same thing work for them.

Three months in and yeah, same thing happened to me. People just respond now without the weird formality gap.

Honestly, that "Thanks, [name]" thing is low key wild because it's not just about being casual. Ngl, I think it works because it drops the fake politeness wall. When you type out "Best regards" or "Sincerely," it feels like you're reading off a script from a business 101 class. But "Thanks" just hits like a normal person talking. Plus, when you send a cold pitch with that, it signals you're not gonna waste their time with corporate fluff. That's a power move for sure.
