That time I bought a $200 'facial mist' machine that just spits water

I saw this sleek gadget online that promised to deliver a 'micro-fine, hydrating mist' during treatments, so I ordered one for the studio. It arrived, I filled it with distilled water, and it just made a weird gurgling noise before shooting a single, sad jet of water straight at my client's forehead. Has anyone actually found a misting device that works without soaking everyone?

Ugh, is there a secret handshake to get these things to actually mist? My first one sounded like a dying frog and left my client's makeup looking like a sad watercolor painting. I switched to a different brand that was basically a fancy squirt gun. Now I just use a little spray bottle from the travel section, it's the only thing that doesn't just dump water.

I mean, the "dying frog" sound is way too real. I had the same issue with my first one. What finally worked for me was using distilled water instead of tap, idk maybe the minerals clog it. I also hold it way further from my face than you'd think, like a full arm's length. It makes a huge difference, it actually lands as a mist instead of big drops.

Seriously, it's like they design these things to fail. My first one was basically a water pistol with extra steps. The travel spray bottle is the real hero here, no fancy tech needed.
