Hot take: I swore by that old anvil stand until it collapsed last Tuesday.

It was a solid oak block I'd used for a decade, but the wood finally rotted from the inside out. I'm looking at a steel tripod base now, any recommendations for a heavy-duty one?

What, you didn't get the ten-year warranty on the oak? Lol. I've heard good things about the ones with the wide feet for stability.

Skip the warranty and just buy good wood. My family has used the same bench for twenty years with zero issues. Cheap materials fail no matter what they promise on paper.

Yeah, the warranty thing is a real gut punch. My last one split right down the middle after like two winters, and the company just shrugged. Those wide feet models sound smart, honestly. My neighbor has one and it hasn't wobbled an inch, even in the mud.
