A friend told me my color choices were too safe and it clicked
After she pointed out my last three sketches were all navy, grey, and cream, I forced myself to pick one bold accent color for each new piece, like a bright coral for a trench coat lining, and it made everything feel more intentional.

Totally get that. I did the same thing with my living room decor after a friend called it a beige prison. Threw in some mustard yellow pillows and a rug, and it just woke the whole place up. Makes such a difference to have that one thing that pops.

Funny how that works. My dad's old truck was this faded blue forever, then he put on these bright red hubcaps. Looked like a whole different vehicle, just from that one change.

My old toolbox was all black and silver for years. Then I got a bright green tape measure as a gift, and now I notice I reach for it first every time. That one color really does change how you see everything.
