My invoice tracker hit 999 projects and I panicked a little
I was updating my spreadsheet (the one I've used since 2019) and saw the project count was at 999, which felt like a weird video game achievement for my freelance career. I almost didn't want to start a new one and break the number, but then I had to write a proposal for a bakery's website anyway. Has anyone else gotten oddly attached to a random number in their business stuff?

Oh man, I totally get that. My old time tracker rolled over to 10,000 hours logged and I just stared at it for a solid minute. It felt like I should get a prize or something. There's something weirdly satisfying about those big, round numbers in your own data.

Read this article about how our brains love round numbers, they call it the "round number effect." It said hitting milestones like 10,000 hours gives a weird little shot of happiness, like a mini reward. Makes all that logging feel worth it for a second. Totally felt that when my step counter hit a million steps, just stood there grinning at my phone.

Absolutely, it's such a real feeling. My car odometer hit 100,000 miles last month and I actually pulled over to take a picture. It felt like a real event, even though nothing changed. There's this silly sense of pride, like you've filled up some invisible meter. It makes all the small, daily stuff feel like it added up to something you can see.
