A client in Denver told me my project updates were just a wall of text, so I switched to bullet points with one clear action item.
Has anyone else found a better way to keep clients in the loop without overwhelming them?

Try a one word update like "fine" and see if they miss the bullet points.

Oh man, @finley_smith, that reminds me of the time my boss asked for a project update and I just wrote "ongoing." The follow-up email asking for "actual details" was longer than my original report (which felt kind of perfect, honestly). It really proves your point about people being hooked on those bullet points, even when there's nothing to say. I guess we're all trained to expect a certain format, even if the content is basically empty.

One word update" made me laugh, but honestly, that whole "wall of text" comment is what finally got me to switch to bullet points too.
