I thought cold emailing was a total waste of time for finding clients.

A friend in Portland told me to try it for my web design work, so I sent 50 emails last month with a specific offer. To my shock, I got 3 replies and landed a $2,000 project from a small bakery. Has anyone else had a weirdly good result from something they thought was a dead end?

Totally get that shock! I wrote off cold emailing for years until my boss made me try it for a software demo. Felt like shouting into the void, but we booked two meetings from a batch of thirty. The key seems to be keeping it short and actually talking about their business, not just yours. What kind of offer did you put in your email to the bakery?

Always thought it was spammy but your story makes me reconsider.

Right? I saw a whole thread breaking down how it actually works and it changed my mind too. Good on you for keeping an open mind, @lucashenderson.
