Heard a guy at the coffee shop say his home office is costing him $500 extra a month

He was talking about the electric and internet bump from running everything all day. Made me check my own bills, anyone else see a big jump?

Insurance companies are charging extra just for having a computer at home now? That's a new low. They'll find any reason to add a fee. My buddy had to pay more because he stores some tools in his garage. Next they'll charge you for using too much toilet paper because you're home all day.

Has anyone looked into whether their home insurance went up too? I had to call my provider because working from home technically changes your risk. They said using your place for business, even just a computer, can sometimes bump your premium. It wasn't a ton for me, but it was another thirty bucks on top of the higher electric bill. These little costs from being home all day really sneak up on you, don't they?

Wait, that's a thing? I saw an article about how some companies are checking if you have business equipment at home now.
