Warning: That time I landed a gig next to the produce section
Years ago, I ran into a past client while picking out apples at the supermarket. We got into a deep talk about a new design job right there in the produce aisle (people were giving us weird looks). Back in the day, freelance meant being ready to network anywhere, anytime. Now, with all my meetings on video, those spontaneous moments are gone. I kinda miss the chaos of doing business in public places. That produce section chat led to a six-month contract, which was awesome. It's funny how much has changed, from impromptu pitches to scheduled screenshares. Makes me appreciate the old ways, even with all the awkwardness.
