Shoutout to the old timer at the antique market in Lancaster who showed me his shellac pad

He was fixing a scratch on a dresser with just a pad of wool and some fresh shellac, no spray gear at all. I'd been stuck on thinking everything needed a full booth setup, but his method was so simple and clean. Anyone else use a French polish style for quick touch-ups on the road?

Man, that's the kind of wisdom you can't buy. Simple fixes are always the best.

Yeah, that old school method is a game changer. I keep a small pad in my kit for exactly that.

Keeping a small pad in your kit, like @casey342 said, is such a smart move. I've noticed the simplest tools are often the ones you end up using the most. It's a good reminder that not every fix needs to be high-tech.

Stick a few in different pockets too. You'll always have one handy.
