The day my backyard birds all froze at once felt like a system error.
I was outside and every bird just stopped moving for a solid ten seconds. It was creepy, like someone hit pause on reality. Stuff like this keeps happening, like my neighbor's tree lost all its leaves in one night last summer. I'm convinced these are glitches from us wrecking the planet. Our pollution and stuff are making nature act broken. If we keep ignoring it, these weird moments will become normal. We need to wake up and fix our environment before the matrix fully crashes.

Your frozen birds... my cat once stared at a wall for an hour straight.

Ugh, classic cat behavior. Check if you have mice or bugs in your walls, that's usually what they're locked onto.

That point about checking for mice or bugs in your walls is spot on. My cat does this all the time, and I just assumed she was bored... but now I'm wondering if I'm the boring one for not noticing the pests. I mean, she'll sit there for ages, tail twitching, and I'm like, "What's so interesting?" Maybe I should actually look into it instead of joking about her having an imaginary friend. It's kind of sad when your pet is more alert to your home's issues than you are. I guess I'm just bad at this whole adulting thing... leaving the pest control to the cat.
