inHot take: The number of guys I see using a 3/4-inch suction hose for a 6-inch cutterhead is genuinely baffling.
Saw a video last week where a guy was using a standard garden hose to try and feed a big pressure washer. It just can't move enough water, so the machine kept surging and stalling. The basics seem to get overlooked for speed or because it's what's on the truck. What's the point of having all that power if you choke it off at the supply?

inBought a $300 digital fabric printer that couldn't handle basic cotton
User error" gets thrown around way too much... sometimes the machine is just cheap junk.

inWorking on the old Otis units at the Grandview Hotel made me rethink my whole approach to door operators
Yeah, it's everywhere now. My coffee maker started acting up and the shop said I needed a whole new unit, but it was just a clogged filter screen. Feels like we're trained to see every little problem as a reason to buy something new instead of just taking a minute to figure it out. That manager probably gets a kickback or just doesn't want the hassle of a callback, so they throw money at it. Saves them time, costs everyone else more.

inShoutout to the guy who tried to list a 'cozy' 400 square foot studio for $3,500 a month because it had a 'vintage' fridge
Normal fridge" got me. My last place had this tiny mini-fridge that couldn't even fit a pizza box. Upgraded to a regular one and felt like I won the lottery. The little things, man.

inMy old boss in Portland told me to always use a 12 inch brush for every flue
Ever think that 12 inch rule might be more about speed than a perfect clean? Like, maybe he just wanted to push through jobs fast and eat the cost of a few scratched up flue liners. Some guys value time over doing it the right way every time.
