Lost $350 on a bad fiber splice job downtown
Hired a guy off Craigslist to run fiber between two buildings near Minute Maid Park. He said he knew what he was doing but my data link kept dropping after 3 days. Turns out he used cheap fusion sleeves and didn't clean the ends right. I had to pay a real contractor $200 more to redo the whole run. Has anyone else had luck finding reliable low voltage guys in the loop?

Man, that's a tough loss and I feel for you. I've been burned by cheap labor more times than I like to admit, and it always ends up costing more in the long run. Your best bet in the loop is to ask around at electrical supply houses or hit up local data contractors directly for referrals.

Eh, is it really that deep? Cheap labor works fine sometimes.

@dakota_miller93 the fine print on those cheap labor deals usually hides the liability.
