Hot take: I think frozen fries are a waste of the air fryer
Last week, I made my own potato wedges from scratch in the air fryer for a cookout in Austin... they were crispy outside, soft inside, and everyone loved them. But my friend swears by the frozen bag stuff, says it's faster and just as good. I tried his way last month and it was fine, but not the same. So, what's the better use of the machine: the quick frozen stuff or taking the time for fresh?

Man, this is the whole "good vs fast" thing in a nutshell. I see it everywhere, like buying pre-made cookie dough instead of mixing flour and sugar. The frozen fries get you fed, but that little bit of extra work for fresh stuff? That's where you actually feel like you made something.

My homemade fries always taste better, even if I'm just being lazy most nights.

Wait, you had a cookout in Austin last week and didn't melt? That's the real shocker here. Frozen fries are the easy way out, like using a sports car just to go to the mailbox. The air fryer makes fresh potatoes so good, why waste it on something that's already been cooked and frozen? The texture from fresh is just different, it's got more of that real potato taste. Doesn't the bag stuff always taste a little sad to you?
