Overheard a guy at the hardware store say he uses a power drill with a paint mixer to knead his dough
Has anyone actually tried something like that, or is it a surefire way to end up with a broken mixer and tough bread?

Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy who tried using his drill with a whisk attachment for mashed potatoes. He swore it would be faster. It was not faster. He ended up with potato glue all over his kitchen walls and a weird, rubbery texture that we still joke about. I can only imagine dough would be way worse, like it would just wrap around the bit and choke the motor. Some shortcuts really aren't worth the cleanup or the ruined food.

Lol that's a disaster waiting to happen. My dude is gonna end up with dough on the ceiling and a burnt out drill motor. Just imagining the texture of that bread, it's gonna be like chewing on a car tire. Some people really will use a power tool for anything to avoid using their hands for five minutes.

Honestly a drill with a paint stirrer attachment works great for big batches, saves a ton of time.

Remember that time I tried using a blender to mix pancake batter? Yeah, I ended up with batter all over myself and pancakes that tasted like burnt rubber. I totally get the temptation to use a drill, but my kitchen disasters have taught me some fights are just meant for a wooden spoon. The cleanup alone from a dough explosion would take longer than just mixing it by hand. I guess I'm just not cut out for power tool cooking.
