A customer once insisted his creaking bottom bracket was haunted
He brought in a vintage road bike and said the noise only happened after midnight, asking if I could perform an 'exorcism'. I found a loose chainring bolt after about ten minutes of checking. Has a client ever given you a supernatural diagnosis for a simple mechanical issue?

Lmao, that's amazing. I had a guy once swear his headset was whispering to him. Turned out to be cable housing rubbing on the frame. Another customer was totally convinced a poltergeist was throwing his chain off, but his derailleur hanger was just bent. People see ghosts in every little click and creak.

My old shop had a "haunted bike" logbook with 27 entries. The fix was always loose bolts or dry bearings.

Honestly, that's a new one for me. Usually they just blame gremlins in the derailleur. I guess a haunted bottom bracket is a step up.
