Finally got my string line setup down to under 5 minutes

Used to fumble with those cheap plastic line levels and a 25 foot tape. Took forever. Watched a guy in Omaha use two 6 foot stakes and a chalk line reel. Tried it on a job three weeks ago. Now I drive the stakes, snap the line, check it once. Done. What's your fastest trick for getting a straight run?

Finally found a solid group of freelancers after trying for months

I moved to Asheville last year and spent months just working from coffee shops, feeling pretty isolated. Last week, I finally joined a weekly meetup at a local coworking spot and met three other designers. Has anyone else had luck with a specific weekly event in their city?

PSA: A layover in Denver convinced me to leave my field service job

I mean, sitting there for hours just to fix one machine felt pointless. Maybe it's just me, but I realized I want work that doesn't need so much travel, so I'm trying to switch paths.

Skipped the hostel kitchen for a guesthouse, and it saved me cash.

Turns out that extra twenty bucks a night for a room with a mini-fridge meant I could cook simple meals and stopped blowing my food budget on overpriced tourist cafes.
