inVent: My calendar looked full but my bank account was empty last month.
Yeah, and those small adds turn into a whole new project without the pay.

inJust caught myself using the wrong size driver on a whole run of gate hinges
It's like that with so many small things. Using the wrong charger cable that fits but charges slow, or a slightly dull kitchen knife that makes chopping vegetables a fight. The right tool for the job is a real thing, but it's easy to grab what's close and waste time fighting it. Makes you wonder what other tiny mismatches are slowing us down every day without noticing.

inPSA: My teens hate working at the shop, and I think forcing them is a bad move.
But how do you handle it when a kid just wants to quit everything after a week? Like, do you make them stick with something for a set time to learn follow-through, or is that just another form of forcing them?

inHonestly thought my old camp stove was bulletproof until a trip last month
Used to think any cheap cooler was fine until a weekend trip went bad. Had a basic one that leaked melted ice all over the car trunk, ruined some groceries. Saw a friend's Yeti keep ice for days in direct sun. Now I get why paying more upfront saves money and hassle later.

inA customer once insisted his creaking bottom bracket was haunted
Lmao, that's amazing. I had a guy once swear his headset was whispering to him. Turned out to be cable housing rubbing on the frame. Another customer was totally convinced a poltergeist was throwing his chain off, but his derailleur hanger was just bent. People see ghosts in every little click and creak.
