Overheard a new mechanic call a freewheel a 'cassette' and it took me back

I was at the shop counter and a younger guy was explaining a repair to a customer, mixing up the terms for a part that hasn't been common for maybe 20 years. It made me think about how much specific knowledge from the old 5 and 6-speed days is just gone now. What's one piece of old tech or a trick you find yourself explaining to newer folks in the shop?

My old boss still has a cotter pin press in the back, collects dust now.

Found an old cotter pin crank in a parts bin last year, totally stuck. Soaked it in penetrating oil for a solid week, then tapped it out with a punch and a small hammer. Took patience but it came free without damaging the threads. Sometimes the old ways are just about having the time to let things sit.

My old Schwinn manual talks about adjusting cup and cone hubs, which feels like a lost art now. Stumbled on a forum post that mentioned @stella111's boss and that old cotter pin press, same kind of thing.
