Rant: I was burning my garlic in the pan every single time
Started adding it to cold oil before turning on the heat, and now it's perfect every time. Anyone else have a simple fix for a basic thing you kept messing up?

That "simple fix" thing is so true. My friend used to burn every grilled cheese until someone told him to just use lower heat. He thought he needed a fancy pan or something. Now they come out perfect every time.

Absolutely agree with you, @fiona749. I see this with tech all the time. People download ten apps to organize their photos when just making folders on their computer works fine. Or they buy a fancy gadget to squeeze lemons when a simple hand juicer from the drawer does the job in seconds. We often overcomplicate things looking for a perfect solution.

Wow, really? Ten apps just to organize photos? That's insane. I barely have the patience to install one app for that, let alone ten. It's like people think if they just download enough stuff, the perfect system will magically appear. And the lemon squeezer thing got me. A hand juicer works great, why would anyone pay for a fancy gadget that does the same thing in three seconds? I swear, sometimes the simpler the approach, the less headache you end up with in the long run.
