Always figured those fancy ceramic fiber blankets were overkill for our small pours
My foreman made me use one to patch a crack in a riser cup last month, and it held up way better than the old firebrick and mortar fix I'd swear by. Anyone got a good source for the 1-inch thick stuff that won't break the bank?

Yeah, I was totally that guy too. I mean, I used to get so annoyed when things would change for what seemed like no reason. But then this one time, the new way actually fixed a huge problem I had. It made me realize I was just being stubborn. Now I try to wait and see how it works before I decide.
