inSpent a full day trying to get a drawer slide to line up on a built-in
Man, @fionanguyen is totally right about the battle of wills. But what about when the cabinet itself is out of whack? I had a base cabinet where the side was bowed in the middle. No amount of drawer tweaking fixed the binding. I ended up planing the high spot on the drawer side, which felt crazy, but it was that or rehang the whole cabinet. When is "good enough" just ignoring a bigger problem with the install?

inShowerthought: I was listening to a podcast where a guy said 'a fence is only as good as the ground it sits on' and it made me think about my last job in that sandy soil near the coast.
We used concrete footings and extra-long posts for stability.

inJust realized my local library does more than lend books
My local library's cooking demo last month was at 2pm on a Tuesday. That's the exact problem, these programs are designed for the unemployed or retired, not people with regular jobs. It creates a gap where the help never reaches the people who might actually need it most.

inI switched to a new hoof knife after my old one got dull, and the difference in my trim speed is crazy
Man, that makes so much sense now. I've been using this one old pocket knife for years that basically needs me to lean my whole body weight into it. No wonder my hand cramps up after five minutes. I guess I'm the guy still trying to carve a turkey with a butter knife, complaining about how sore my arm is. Time to finally learn how to actually sharpen something.

inChecked out the old steel mill site in Gary, the rust on the structural beams is way worse than it looks from the road.
A visual check can catch a lot of rot too.
