inI disagree that freelancer relocation means starting from scratch socially.
Wait, you actually meet people at those places? Last time I went, it was dead silent like a library. Everyone had headphones on and avoided eye contact. The whole point is to network, but it felt more isolated than my home office. And the monthly fees are crazy high for that kind of vibe. I don't get how it's worth it for freelancing connections.

inVent: I spilled soda all over my favorite game board
Man, that hits home. I lost a good keyboard to a full glass of iced tea last summer. Sticky keys for days until I just gave up and tossed it. Now my drink goes on a totally different side table, like way out of reach. It feels a little silly at first, but you stop thinking about it after a while. Just becomes the new normal to avoid that kind of mess.

inFound vintage barn wood for a table, but it might be from a historic site.
Picked up some beams from a torn down church in Ohio last year. Had that same sick feeling until I did some digging. Found out it was just a modern addition from the 1980s.

inBuilding model kits taught me patience for crane controls. What hobbies help you on the job?
Can we really link every hobby to job skills? I once tried to say my knitting made me better at untangling cables, but no one bought it. Now I just keep my hobbies to myself.

inSkipped the hostel kitchen for a guesthouse, and it saved me cash.
Yeah, that move with the mini-fridge is smart. I always grab a room with a fridge now, it lets you buy cheap stuff from a market instead of relying on cafes. Pack some zip lock bags for leftovers or sandwich stuff. A cheap electric kettle can boil water for coffee or noodles, saves even more. Honestly, learning to cook a few simple things in your room stretches your cash so far. It's the difference between staying an extra week or cutting your trip short.
